Great news for those who have been waiting for the Microsoft Surface Studio to arrive in Australia. Microsoft have just announced that is now available for purchase form the .au online store.
The surface Studio range represents a brave new initiative by Microsoft to take on Apple in the creative space. The Surface studio offers some innovations in hardware and the UI that Apple have failed to deliver over recent years.
The main attraction for the creative segment is the striking large and incredibly thin 28-inch razor-sharp touch screen PixelSense Display. Not only does it have the ability to offer you the touch screen experience by hand or stylus but also available as an add on option is the brand new surface dial which adds yet another intuitive input option that plays nicely with many of your favourite graphics programs.
The Microsoft Surface Studio is going to be well suited to architects, graphic designers, photographers and digital creatives in general.
As most digital creatives are invested in the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite of Software which is both Mac and PC compatible, it would be of little consequence to switch from one platform to another. As such it is quite possible that Microsoft may begin to lure some long time Mac users over to the Windows Environment with the built for purpose Surface Studio.
Available in three configurations, from the Intel Core i5 8GB Ram mode, Intel Core I7 16Gb Ram option and the higher specced unit offering and intel Core I7 processor with 16GB of Ram and 4GB GPU.
The entry level unit starts at $4,699mAU, the next set up is $5,499 AU and the top of the line model comes in at $6,599 AU.
